I note that this is one week after Easter.
Why is it not over the Easter break as it used to be many years ago?

When is the Notice of race and entry form due for release please?

If you want more that just locals to attend then you must ensure adequate notice is given.
Do it NOW, before it`s too late!

Ian it would have been great to have the Nationals over Easter and yes we did look at it but as you are probably aware we share the lake with the powerboats and I am afraid that is there weekend. We sail the 1st-3rd & 5th Sundays in the month.

No doubt had this event been marked down for the Easter weekend,it would have drawn remarks how Easter was a holiday etc reminds me of the  saying ;you can please most of the people most of the time ...but not all the people all the time or words to that effect. ::) ::)

Hi,

With the current status of the ecomomy, will the NMMS be offering billets to us out of town sailors, I am looking to drive up for the Nats, but trying to keep the $$ spent to a minimum, any help would be appreciated.

Rod , I may have the wrong impression is not Isobar Yachts a commercial venture, selling yachts and yacht fitting,s i would have thought expenc es such as travel and accommodation/ advertising could be claimed as expenc es ?.(With the current status of the economy) I would have thought the status of the economy would also have an effect on the members of NMMS .With other sailing events i have noted the addresses and prices of local motels made available to those wanting to stay near bye.I myself used such advise with two others at a sailing event in Nelson and the help from the motel owner was very good....(Bob, really not the friendliest/helpfull of replies) looking back at some of the exchanges we have had  on this and other forums Rod its best if i do not answer your comment in full. ;) ;) :-\

The N.M.M.S. has received from the NCA approval for Class Rule changes to apply at the NZ IOM Championship 18-20 April. The full approval will be posted on the Notice Board and the Sailing Instructions will incorporate the changes.

The changes are underlined in the following extract.

C.4.3 CORRECTOR WEIGHT(S)
Corrector weight(s) to achieve compliance with C.4.2, if used, shall be fixed in/on the hull and shall not be altered or moved during an event.

C.5.3 REMOTE CONTROL EQUIPMENT USE
(d)   During an event remote control and/or related equipment if temporarily removed and or replaced:
    (1)   shall be refitted in the same position.
    (2)   shall be replaced by equipment of similar weight.

Could you please advise if the sailing instructions include a reference to the use of the "FIDRO system". It is not mentioned in the NOR.
If the "FIDRO system" is to be included, could you please publish a copy of the "system" in it's entirety, as it appears not many (If any!) people know or understand its operation.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

I presume you have entered this sailing event, and under normal conditions filled out the paper work, and signed to say you will abide with the racing rules of sailing ?..................

The regatta will be governed by Racing Rules of Sailing for 2009 2012 (RRS) as changed by RRS Appendix E, the IOM Class Championships Rules, this Notice of Race (NOR), the Sailing Instructions (SI), the International One Metre Class Rules and the Equipment Rules of Sailing (ERS). The Sailing Instructions shall prevail in case on conflict with this Notice of Race.  posted Feb 3rd 10.43pm

Both the English and German references to the FIDRO system have not met with your approval, why not direct your question to the International body ?
Maybe its me but it seems ironic for some one to so want change(at the top)when this comes you reject it  just as firmly.Did not a crooner by the name Sinatra have a hit on the charts with a song called Do it my way.............?
