It seams a bit out of date to use the word Conduct..........perhaps a better word may be example....any way back to the subject.Down at the local lake at the weekend watching the sailing(for a change )i was treated to a piece of NICE conduct, some thing that does not happen enough at the sailing venues.
A skipper who has to travel quite a distance to go sailing, and who owns a very expensive yacht ,put his radio into my hands and said have a go......
how many times does this happen ? not nearly enough.Have a go ,three words that may get a new comer hooked on the sport.many thanks to the skipper involved. :D :)
unless otherwise stated views are my own.

A long time between posts perhaps suggests that this is not a common occurance. However this is the exact thing that happened to me not to long ago.
HAVE A GO BUDDY.....Iwas just watching when the offer was made,no intention whatever to actually get into this hobby/passtime/sport.
Not only was I encouraged to HAVE A GO,the owner offered a few helpful hints for the first few minutes and then.............stepped away and let me get on with it.His generosity was astounding,I think I sailed his boat for about 1/2 an hour.
I now own a SEAWIND and have recently purchased an IOM.
Hooked yes,
would I have got into this without the phrase HAVE A GO..................NO
Now when I sail my boats on the lake I guess I sail them for around half the time I'm there and spectators sail it the rest of the time.
Free time actually costs more

Thanks Newbie, it makes all the difference turning the lake into a place of friendship and not a combat zone.
