RE: Quarry Lake update

Hi Bob,

Thanks for your email. Ive just got back to work after five weeks leave so have been working my way through the emails that arrived in my absence.

The contractor who has quoted to build the containment structure on the bund between the two lakes has now finally submitted the rough sketches of the structure that I asked for. DOC will require more detailed engineering drawings before they will give any approvals, so the contractor will be re-visiting the site with an engineer this week to sort this out and give us some quotes.

Hows the weed situation in the lake at the moment? Since the water temperatures are a lot cooler now does the weed tend to die off a bit over winter?

Regards,

Graham.

Hi Bob,

Late last week I finally got the quote from the contractor who we had come out and look at the area of the bund that would need to be modified in order to contain any grass carp. Ive asked that he get back to us with some rough drawings of the proposed work as well, to ensure that were both on the same page.

The other complication with carrying out works on the strip between the two lakes is that its DOC land, meaning that wed have to apply to them for a concession to put the containment in.

I realise that its been a long, drawn-out process so far but the containment issue is the key factor that needs to be properly addressed if theres to be any chance of having the release approved by DOC.

Regards,

Graham.

In all probabity the Carp for Quarry lake have yet to be hatched. ::)The original application as lodged by the club has since being hi-jacked by the local council.DOC/local council have no real interest to see a conclusion to this matter.
